WW1 Period Trench Art Letter Opener with Brass Bowie Shaped Blade & Stag Horn Handle

Here on offer is an usual WW1 period Trench Art letter opener, with a brass bowie shaped blade and a genuine stag horn handle.

Unusually the beautiful original stag antler has been cut to provide a flat section as a base for the letter opener, allowing it to rest with the point of the antler and the edge of the blade pointing upwards.

The impressive unmarked polished brass blade is securely fixed to the stag horn handle by two large aluminium rivets that pass through the blade tang.

It measures 11.25” (28.5cm) long, end to end and the brass blade is 5.1” (13cm) long.

It weighs 80g.
