Vintage Sport Related French Twin Bladed Penknife Depicting a Tennis Player and a Boxer circa 1930

Here on offer is an unusual vintage sport related French twin bladed penknife, depicting a tennis player and a boxer, I believe from the 1930’s.

The grip plates are made from solid brass and have the pressed images, on one side a tennis player and on the other a boxer, both look to be dressed in sports kit from the 1930’s.

There is also the French word DEPOSE in raised lettering on both sides, which translates to “trademark” in English.

The penknife has two folding blades, one at each end that are in great condition with just some light age staining to the steel finish.

The long blade has the image of an adjustable spanner on one side, which I assume is the French maker’s logo? As yet I can’t find any reference to this maker?

Both blades are still stiff to open and still lock in place securely.


The longer blade measures 2” (5.2cm) and the shorter blade is 1.4” (3.5cm).

With both blades open the whole penknife measures 6.25” (15.9cm) long.

It weighs 30g.
