Antique German Cigar or Cheroot Cutter and Letter Opener c1910

Here on offer is beautiful antique German made cigar or cheroot cutter and letter opener, circa 1910.

The letter opener and the cutter grip sections are made from a natural animal material that is in excellent undamaged condition and now has a smooth polished finish and shows its natural graining.

The spring lever operated metal cutter is in full working order with a ‘V’ cutter at the front.

There is no maker’s name that I can see but it looks to be in the style of Donatus, based in Solingen, Germany.
The metal cutter does show some signs of surface greying, commiserate with its age, please see my pictures.

The cutter and letter opener measure 5.5” (14cm) long. The cutter “V” section opening at the front has a 0.6” (1.4cm) outer diameter.

It weighs 23g.
