WW2 Royal Navy Button and Heart Shaped Perspex Sweetheart Pendant

Here on offer is a rare handmade example of a WW2 Royal Navy button and heart shaped Perspex sweetheart pendant.

I was told from the family I bought it from, that it was made from the Perspex canopy of a damaged WW2 Royal Navy Fleet Air Arms SEAFIRE fighter plane and the top of a Royal Navy officers brass button.

The clear Perspex heart is inset on the domed side with the top of a Royal Navy officers brass button, depicting an entwined anchor and a King’s crown. This is the type of button that was made by Gieves of London, before and during WW2.

The Perspex heart has a tiny hole drilled through it at the top, where a ring can be fitted to allow the pendant to be worn on a chain.

It is great original condition and the anchor does show some wear.

The pendant is 0.9” (2.2cm) wide by 1.1” (2.8cm) high and weighs 2.5g.
