WW2 Trench Art Solid Aluminium Model of an RAF De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito

Here on offer is an WW2 trench art solid aluminium model of an RAF De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito.

The Mosquito was a British twin-engined, multirole combat aircraft, introduced during WW2. Unusual in that its airframe was constructed mostly of wood, it was nicknamed the "Wooden Wonder" or "Mossie”. In 1941, it was one of the fastest operational aircraft in the world.

The model is made from a one piece solid aluminium casting that now has a polished finish with some light age oxidisation.

There are some holes drilled in the bottom that would allow it to be fitted to a raised base or support.

This is an impressive scale model that depicts the smooth lines of the Mosquito, minus any propellors.

The model has a 6.5” (16.5cm) wingspan and is 4.6” 11.7cm long.

It weighs a heavy 133g.
