Antique Indian Swagger Stick with Concealed Blade
Here on offer is an antique Indian swagger stick with a concealed blade.
The handle is made up of a brass lion mask pommel attached to a smooth horn section. Below this is an ornately carved bone section and a knurled brass collar which twists to lock the blade securely in place.
The single edged 14.4” steel blade is engraved with the word “INDIA” near the handle and these is some punched scrolled pattern decoration to one side of the blade. The other side is plain and the whole blade is in excellent condition, with just some minor dark spots.
The sheath is made of Ebonised wood that has some carving to the top and bottom sections and is fitted with a large brass ferrell.
The steel blade is 14.4” (36.5cm) long with a blunt cutting edge of 11” (28cm) on one edge.
With the blade inserted, it measures 22.75” (58cm) long and 1.3” (3cm) diameter at the top.
It weighs 340g.
