Amusing Vintage Cold Painted Austrian Bobble Head Figure Ashtray

Here on offer is an amusing early vintage cold painted Austrian “bobble head” figure ashtray, circa 1920.

The cast figure is of a dressed man wearing a red bow tie and straw hat.

His head is fitted to a steel spring that allows it to “bobble” when the ashtray is just moved slightly.

The ashtray itself is finished in a gilt paint that now shows signs of flaking and loss and it has raised letters underneath, that read as:

MADE IN AUSTRIA

The male figure still retains nearly all his original cold painted finish.

It measures 4.5” (11.5cm) tall and the ashtray is 4.3” (11cm) wide.

It weighs 210g.
