Unusual Original WW2 Copper “Trench Art” RAF Spitfire Long Bar Sweetheart Brooch

Here on offer is a superb example of an original WW2 “Trench Art” sweetheart brooch which is in the form of a RAF Spitfire fighter aircraft made from copper, mounted on a long bar brooch.

It is thought that these brooches where true “WW2 Trench Art” possibly made from copper coins by German POW’s retained in the UK and sold to guards for chocolate and cigarettes.

This small example is in excellent condition and has been mounted on a long bar brooch that retains its long fixing pin and clasp.

The brooch is 2.25” (5.7cm) long by 0.9” (2.2cm) wide and weighs 4g.
