Scarce WW1 Period LEST WE FORGET COMRADES OF THE GREAT WAR ASSOCIATE MEMBER Gilt and Enamel Lapel Badge

Here on offer is a beautiful example of a scarce WW1 period LEST WE FORGET COMRADES OF THE GREAT WAR ASSOCIATE MEMBER, gilt and enamel lapel badge.

The badge displays a Union Flag to the centre of a circle of red enamel set with the words:

COMRADES OF THE GREAT WAR ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Then there is a blue enamel scroll ribbon at the top set with the words:

LEST WE FORGET

On the reverse it is stamped with the maker's details 'J.R. Gaunt London' and impressed with an early official issue number '1042'.


The badge is in excellent condition with no damage or loss to the enamel and the gilt finish remains bright.

It is complete with its original buttonhole/lapel ‘halfmoon’ fitting.

The badge measures 1.4” (3.6cm) wide by 1.2” (3.1cm) high.

It weighs 11g.
