Victorian Scottish Cast Brass Doorstop Depicting a Scottish Soldier in Military Uniform - BONNIE SCOTLAND

Here on offer is an unusual Victorian cast brass doorstop, depicting a Scottish soldier in dress uniform, wearing a kilt, and large sporran, circa 1888.

The doorstep has been cast in solid brass in Scotland and actually has the Glasgow foundry name on the back, but I just can’t make it out the name, just the word GLASGOW

Cast in raised letters on the front of the base are the words:

BONNIE SCOTLAND

This example is in great condition with some wear to the detailing and the brass now has a nice aged patina.

It makes an impressive display piece of military related memorabilia and still works as a great doorstop!

The doorstop measures 11.5” (29.2cm) high and 5.5” (14cm) wide at the base.

It weighs a heavy 1.345Kg.
