Beautiful Mint WW2 German Army Dagger with Orange Grip by CARL EICKHORN

Here on offer is possibly the best example of an Carl Eickhorn dagger that I have had the privilege offer.

This WW2 period German Army dagger is in beautiful mint condition with a thick silver-plating finish to all the mounts and fittings, including the scabbard.

The 12 oak leaf pattern Pommel is in mint condition, showing quality hand finishing to the oak leaves.

The grip is beautiful orange solid trolon/celluloid type, in mint condition, no cracks or chips to the finish.

The spread winged Army Eagle crossguard retains all its crisp detailing and no loss of plating. The reverse is smooth and still has all its plating in place.

The ferrule has the finely detailed oak leaf design.

The blade is just stunning and still retains its original cross graining. It measures
10.25” (26cm) in length and is in truly mint condition.

The blade is complete with its dark brown leather scabbard buffer pad.

On the reverse it has a clear etched EICKHORN ‘Seated Squirrel with Sword’ maker’s trademark that was used between 1935 and 1941.

The silver-plated metal scabbard is dent free and again in mint condition.

The throat is held in place by one round-headed screw on the reverse.

It also comes with a mint condition silver coloured bullion portepee knot, which has been fitted to the dagger in the correct manner.

The dagger in the scabbard measures a total of 15.75” (40cm) long and weighs 350g.

Not a cheap dagger and I had to pay a lot for it, but try and find another of this quality and in this condition these days. It can only increase in value.
