Vintage Ingersoll Pocket Watch with Certificate and Box c1969

Here on offer is an excellent example of a vintage Ingersoll open face, top winding pocket watch, circa 1969.

The watch has been stored safely protected in its original thin card box for over 40 years. This means that any oil/grease inside has now gone hard and although the mechanism is working, it is losing about 5 minutes an hour, so if it is to be used, it will need a service and clean.

It is in excellent condition just has some very light scratches to the back of the nickel case and very tiny marks on the front “glass”.

It has black hour numbers set above with small red 24 hour numbers all set on a white faced dial, with a subsidiary second’s dial in the 6 O’clock position.

The face is marked with the name:

INGERSOLL

Then below the second’s dial it is marked:

MADE IN GT BRITAIN

The watch comes with its original clear plastic cover and Ingersoll, thin card box. The box has a number 1942 on the side which may be the serial number?

Contained inside the box is the original (folded) Ingersoll 6 month guarantee, which has the retailers stamp and is dated 28th May 1969.

The pocket watch is 2.2” (5.6cm) diameter and weighs 60g.
