WW1 British .303 sweetheart “Bullet” Pendant fitted with a miniature enamel Belgium flag

Here on offer is a WW1 British .303 sweetheart “Bullet” pendant, with a miniature, red yellow and black enamel Belgium flag at the top. The flag has been quite crudely soldered in place, but these where possible made as "trench art" pieces, so not the best quality.

The bullet with a rounded tip, looks to be from a WW1 period British .303 Mk VI ball round.

The top of the flag is fitted with a brass ring, allowing it to be worn as a pendant on a chain by a soldier’s sweetheart.

I imagine this was a souvenir piece made to commemorate a soldier’s time in Belgium during one of the many battles that took place there during WW1, such as Ypres, Mons and Yser.

The bullet measures 1.7” (4.4cm) long, including the ring. The bullet is 0.3” (0.8cm) wide and the pendant weighs 14.4g.
