Vintage Explorer Solingen Baron Lockback Pocket Knife with Stag Grip
Here on offer is a mint and rare example of another knife I have owned from new that is in unused mint condition, circa 1980.
This small folding lockback knife has a 2.1” cutting edge clip point stainless steel blade, that is etched on one side with the maker’s details:
EXPLORER SOLINGEN
BARON
30-895
HAND CRAFTED IN GERMANY
XXTRA SHARP STAINLESS
The blade is of exceptional quality and has been hand crafted in Solingen, Germany and I believe it has a maker’s reference of 30-895.
The grip has polished nickel silver bolsters and shaped stag antler scales, that are held in place to the brass liners, with three steel pins. At the end is the blade locking/releasing device.
A metal disc with the maker’s “EXPLORER SOLINGEN” logo has been set into the front grip scale.
The blade cutting edge measures 2.1” (5.2cm) and when fully opened it measures 5.2” (13cm) long.
It weighs 60g.
