Collector’s Lockback Knife by Frost Cutlery with Custom Scrimshaw of a Bald Eagle by O.D.
Here on offer is a is a beautiful single blade locking knife made by Frost Cutlery when they were still getting knives from Seki City in Japan, an area famed for making some of the best blade steels.
It has a 2.75” blade with a razor sharp 2.1” cutting edge. The ricasso is stamped with the Frost Cutlery logo of a flying eagle and the words:
SURGICAL STEEL
On the back of the blade, it as the etched word:
JAPAN
The grip is made up of a large polished brass bolster and polished bone scales, that are held in place to the brass liners, with three brass pins. At the end is the blade locking/releasing device.
On the front, it depicts the image of a bald eagle’s head, that is a fine piece of custom scrimshaw by O.D.
I bought this knife new, back in the 1980’s and it has been in my collection ever since and is in mint unused condition.
It still retains its original blue card box that has the Fost Cutlery logo on the top.
The blade measures 2.75” (7cm) and when fully opened it measures 6.3” (16cm) long.
It weighs 113g.
