Antique Miniature Ladies Chatelaine Folding Glove Button Hook with Ornate Silver Handle Scales c1890

Here on offer is an attractive antique miniature ladies chatelaine folding glove button hook with ornate silver handle scales, circa 1890.

This glove button hook was used by ladies for fastening the buttons on their delicate gloves.

It could be attached to a watch chain, fob or even a chatelaine.

This fine example has what seem to be ornate silver scales on the handle and it still retains its suspension ring.

There are no maker marks on this piece, but it is possible that it is continental and was imported by the silversmiths, Cohen & Charles of London at the end of the 19th century.

It is in excellent condition and open and closes well.


It measures 1.8” (4.6cm) long when the hook is open and 1.2” (3cm) when it is closed including the ring.

It weighs 5.4g.
