Reproduction WW2 German Feldgendarmerie Field Police Gorget

Here on offer is a good early example of a reproduction WW2 German Feldgendarmerie Field Police Gorget.

This metal alloy example actually has some fine detailing to the eagle; unlike a lot of the more modern copies, I have seen.

The original Feldgendarmerie Gorget was easily seen in the day and night due to the Army eagle, scroll and studs being painted in yellow luminous paint so they would glow in the dark.

What is unusual is that this example has been painted black, not yellow and the eagles head faces left, as police eagles did, not to the right, like Army eagles?

On the back there is a wool felt backing and two hooks to attach a neck chain, which is missing on this example.

It measures about 4.6” (11cm) high by 6.4” (16.3cm) wide and weighs 84g.

This is a fine quality reproduction Gorget that is ideal for display or re-enactment.
