Antique Victorian Cased Pair of Silver Plated Berry Serving Spoons c1880
Here on offer is a beautiful pair of antique silver plated Berry Spoons, with their original fitted case, circa 1880.
The solid spoons have scalloped edged bowls engraved inside with a berry/vine leaf pattern.
The silver plated handles have a twisted metal section and a beautifully carved bone section, that look like tiny vertebra. The tip is finished with an ornate pommel.
There are no makers marks that I can see on the spoons or case.
The set comes in its original black leatherette hard case which has a fitted green velvet and silk lining.
The spoons are in mint condition, with no loss of plating and look to have never been used. There are just a few marks to the base of the box, through storage over the years.
Each spoon measures 6.25” (16cm) long with a bowl width of 1.3” (3.3cm).
With the case they weigh 208g.
