Impressive Portuguese Canesa Style Folding Lock Knife by CUREL with a large 9.25” stainless steel blade c1940

Here on offer is an impressive Portuguese Canesa style folding lock knife by CUREL, with a large 9.25” stainless steel blade and beautiful dark marble patterned Lucite grip scales, circa 1940.

The knife has a large single edged spear pointed polished stainless steel blade, stamped on one side of the ricasso with:

CUREL
INOX

The blade is in near mint condition and retains a very sharp cutting edge.

It has a lever-type blade locking system and a large brass bolster.

The classically shaped Portugues Canesa grip, has two beautifully dark marble coloured Lucite scales, that are pinned to the steel liners by brass pins. At the end there is a partly patterned brass lanyard ring.

The blade locking mechanism works perfectly and the blade locks securely in place.

This is the largest version of this style of knife I have ever seen and I have owned this for over 40 years.

When OPEN the knife measures 19.5” (49.5cm) long (excluding the ring), when CLOSED it measures 10.5” (26.7cm) and the blade measures 9.25” (23.5cm) long.

It weighs heavy 505g.
