WW1 Commemorative China Teapot Stand Depicting THE FLAGS OF THE ALLIES by W.H. GOSS
Here on offer is an unusual WW1 commemorative china teapot stand, depicting THE FLAGS OF THE ALLIES by W.H. GOSS.
The stand is made of white-coloured glazed china with a detailed colour transfer print on the top.
It depicts the four flags of the WW1 allies at the time and the words:
FLAGS OF THE ALLIES
GREAT BRITAIN, FRANCE, BELGIUM, RUSSIA.
Around the scalloped shaped rim it still retains most of the gold edging.
On the underside it has the W.H. GOSS makers mark, being the goshawk crest with the name W.H. GOSS below it. The bird is also a representation of the name of the factory – ‘Falcon Works’.
The stand is in great condition, no cracks, just a small chip to one corner underneath along with some loss of the transfer detailing on the top. Please see my photos.
It measures 5.6” (14.3cm) square and is about 0.75” (1.9cm) high.
It weighs 250g.
Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
