Antique Handcrafted Sword Stick with 21.5" Long Square Blade and Shaped Wooden Handle
Here on offer is an antique handcrafted sword stick with 21.5" long square blade and shaped wooden handle.
This sword stick looks like a normal Victorian period walking stick, with a black shaft.
The handle is made up two smooth sections of carved and shaped wood, joined to make a standard “L” shaped handle.
The 21.5” square shaped polished steel blade is in mint condition and has most likely been made from an antique fencing sword blade, possibly German?
The black painted sheath seems to have been made from a tapered section of a metal snooker cue cover, that where popular back in the Victorian period. It has a brass ferrule fitted at the end.
The sword section just fits snuggly and holds securely into the sheath, completely concealing the blade.
The whole sword stick is in excellent condition, with just some small sections of paint missing on the sheath.
The square steel blade is 21.5” (54.6cm) long and when inserted in the sheath, the whole stick measures 20.75” (53cm).
With the blade inserted, the whole stick measures 31.5” (80cm) long.
It weighs 555g.
