Complete Vintage Cased Multi-Tool Set by J.A. Henckels of Solingen Germany c1950

Here on offer is a complete vintage cased multi-tool set by J.A. Henckels of Solingen Germany, circa 1950.

J.A. Henckels are a world famous knife maker, known for producing top quality steel products and they still produce cutlery today.

This is a scarce example of one of their quality multi-tool sets, with 21 separate items, consisting of:

Flat Pliers
Hammer with Hickory wood handle.
2 x open ended spanners
2 x ring spanners
Adjustable Spanner
Grip Pliers
11 interchangeable tools with 2 wood gripped handles that are designed to “lock” the tool in place while in use. The tool can be released by pressing the lock back latch on the edge of the handle. A very clever design!

These interchangeable tools consist of, files, drills, screwdrivers, saw, can opener and even a glass cutter.

The tools are in excellent condition with just s few showing signs of light surface rust/age darkening.

All the tools are retained with loops or stud straps, inside a brown leatherette folding case.

The inside is in good condition, but the plastic lining has now split along both edges of the inside of the spin, but the case still holds together well when closed.

On the outside is a carrying handle on the top and on the front, it is embossed in gold with the J.A. Henckels name and logo, along with the owner’s initials, “D.B.”.

The case does have a few scuffs/dents and shows some wear to the edges, which you would expect given it is now over 75 years old.

This is a great opportunity to obtain this type of German quality tool set, especially as it is “complete”, which is rare to find these days.

When closed, the case measures 10.75” (27.3cm) by 6.6” (16.8cm) by 2” (5.1cm) and weighs a heavy 1.8Kg.
