Rare Nazi Party Chrome Plated Engine Turned Cigar Case Fitted with a 1933 Gau München Badge

Here on offer is a scarce Nazi Party chrome plated engine turned cigar case, fitted on the front with what looks to be a genuine 1933 Gau München Badge.

This impressive early Nazi period cigar case was most probably owned by a senior member of the Nazi Party, possibly one of the participants of the failed putsch of 1923.

The outside of the case has a striped engine turned pattern that is chrome or nickel plated and now shows some signs of minor pitting to the finish. The case is actually in excellent condition for its age and has no dents or splits to the metal.

It has a spring release catch on the front edge, that is in working order.

The case opens and closes well and it has a lovely gilt interior that still retains the two small metal brackets and the elastic strap used to hold the cigars in place.

The top lid has been fitted with a 1933 Gau München badge that appears to be made from a bronzed copper.

The 1933 Gau München badge was a commemorative award for the Munich district of the Nazi party. The center of this badge features a large mobile swastika emblem with the date, 1933. Surrounding this swastika is a finely sculpted wreath of oak leaves, wrapped with a banner reading “Und Ihr Habt Doch Gesiegt” (And yet you have triumphed), a reference to the participants of the failed putsch of 1923.

This is possibly a unique piece and would make a great addition to any Nazi period collection.

The case measures 5.2” (13cm) by 3.6” (9cm) and weighs 120g.
