Complete British Special Forces Escape & Evasion Survival Kit NSN A3 8465-99-135-5593 - SAS/Para/Airborne – c1980

Here on offer is a complete British Special Forces escape and evasion survival kit, as used by the
SAS/Para/Airborne special forces, circa 1980.

This rare kit has a British National Stock Number (NSN) of A3 8465-99-135-5593.

It was made in England and was issued to behind enemy lines land forces and has never been used and I believe it is new “old stock”, being stored since the 1980s.

It comprises of the following with their respective NSN numbers:

1 - Glass, Burning - A3 8465-99-456-1347
1 - Kit, Fishing - A3 4220-99-138-8693
1 - Saw - A3 8465-99-127-9240

1 - Wire Snare - A3 8465-99-456-1354

All the items are still in their original packaging, some in waxed paper packets, as shown in my photos.

The fishing kit comes in its sealed clear plastic packet and is dated to 31st July 1982.

The brass escape compass has two luminous markers and red paint indicating north and one luminous marker indicating south.

The items are in excellent unused condition, but the Halland’s wire pacsaw does now have some light surface darkening to its finish.

The wallet measures 11.5” (29.2cm) by 5.75” (14.6cm) and the whole kit weighs 215g.
