Vintage Miniature German Boot Knife with Horn Grip and Original Leather Sheath

Here on offer is a great example of a miniature German boot knife with genuine horn grip and original leather sheath.

The grip is made from a small section of stag antler horn that is fitted with a ribbed polished nickel pommel cap and a tapering ferrule.

The single edged blade is in excellent condition with just some light age staining as shown in my photos.

There is no maker mark on the blade, but on one side it is stamped with:

SOLINGEN

It comes with its original brown leather sheath that has an upper ribbed nickel mount. There is some slight creasing to the leather near the tip, but it is all intact.

From the look and feel of this knife, I think it was probably made back in the 1930’s as a souvenir piece, but there are photos of WW2 German soldiers using these as small “boot/skinning knives” during that conflict.

The blade measures 2” (5.1cm) long and the knife is 4.3” (11cm) in total length.

It weighs 17g.
