Large Vintage Japanese HOBO - 11 Multi Tool Camping Survival Knife with Stag Horn Grips c1950

Here on offer is a great example of the larger version of a vintage Japanese HOBO - 11 multi tool camping/survival knife with stag horn grips and steel bolsters, circa 1950.

This ingenious folding multi tool knife has 11 individual tools, including a knife blade, fork, spoon, scissors etc, as shown in my photos.

It comes in great condition two fine crosshatched stag horn grip plates. There is no maker’s marks or name that I can see, but the Japanese company, STELLAR are known to have made this type of multi-tool knife.

The stainless steel tools now show patches of dark age staining, some of which I believe it will clean off with the application of some good quality metal polish.

All the tools are in great working condition, with the knife retaining a sharp cutting edge, but the very tip now looks to be missing. The spoon also has a slight wobble when it is open.

It still retains its large steel swivel loop making it easy to attached to a belt clip.

The main blade measures 3.5” (9cm) and when all the tools are closed, it measures 4.75” (12cm) long, excluding the loop.

It weighs 305g.
