Army Cadet Force Silver Sports Medal awarded to L/CPL Cheeseman for 2nd Place in the 100yds in 1946

Here on offer is a post WW2 Army Cadet Force, silver sports medal, awarded to L/CPL Cheeseman for 2nd Place in the junior 100yds, at the Middlesex County Athletic Championships, held on 23rd June 1946.

The medal is not hallmarked, but tests as sterling silver or it has a very thick silver plating.

The front depicts in relief, three runners in motion, inscribed with:

JUNIOR 100 YARDS
SECOND L/CPL. CHEESEMAN P.C.

Indicating it was awarded to a Lance Corporal Cheeseman of the Pioneers Corps, for finishing second in a junior 100-yard running event.

The reverse displays the crest for the Army Cadet Force and has been engraved with:

MIDDLESEX COUNTY ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS 23 – 6 - 46

This medal is truly a fine quality piece that is in beautiful condition, with a suspension loop and ring at the top.

It measures 1.25” (3.2cm) diameter and weighs 20g.
