Original Pair of WW2 German 2 Mark Nazi Silver Coin Cufflinks (with Gilt Finish) Depicting Hindenburg and The National Eagle

Here on offer is an unusual and original pair of WW2 German 2 Mark Nazi silver coin cufflinks, depicting Hindenburg and the National Eagle.

These original 1937 dated 2 Mark coins and made of 625 grade solid German silver that has had a fine gold wash applied to the finish.

On the obverse, they depict an German National Eagle holding a wreath of oak leaves above the swastika in the middle of the wreath, denomination on the sides, reads as:

2 Reichs
Mark
Deutsches Reich 1937

Then on the reverse of both, is large portrait of Paul von Hindenburg facing right with the mintmark “A” (minted in Berlin) by Hindenburg's neck and the lettering:

1847-1934
Paul von Hindenburg

Then around the edge they have an inscription that reads:

Gemeinnutz geht vor Eigennutz

Which translates to: Common Good Takes Priority over Self-interest.

On the reverse they have been professionally fitted with 900 grade WW2 period swivel type cufflink fixing arms.

They are both stamped:

900 (grade of silver)
FM (maker’s mark, which I can’t identify)

Third Reich silver was supposed to be destroyed after the end of WW2, but a large number of silver coins are still in existence, albeit this is the only pair of cufflinks I have seen like this, possibly they are unique?

The cufflinks are in excellent condition, retaining fine detailing and a thin gold wash, giving them a gold/silver sheen finish. The swivel fitting mechanism still works perfectly, so they can be worn today, in the right place!

The both measure 1” (2.5cm) diameter and each weigh 10g.
