Impressive WW2 Period British “Bomb” Shaped Chrome Plated Table Lighter with Ashtray Base

Here on offer is an impressive and very well made WW2 period British “Bomb” shaped chrome plated table lighter with an ashtray base.

It has made from chrome plated brass, making it a very heavy piece.

The fin section of the bomb, is a tight fit, but pulls off to reveal the knurled flint wheel and wick.

The inner cylindrical section can be removed (it is a tight fit) to give access to the flint barrel/spring and wick cotton for refuelling.

The nose of the bomb has been drilled and seven chrome plated nuts have been used to make a stand to fix it to the ashtray base.

The ashtray has four rests and has three nuts fitted underneath to act as supporting feet.

Inside the ashtray it shows some signs of plating loss, but the rest of the original chrome plating on the whole piece is in mint condition.

The lighter is in working order, but is being sold without a flint or any fuel to comply with shipping regulations.

This “Bomb” just makes a striking WW2 table or desk lighter and is in excellent condition.

It measures 8.6” (22cm) tall and 4.25” (10.8cm) diameter at the base.

It weighs a very heavy 1.65Kg.
