WW2 “The Royal Artillery” Sweetheart Brooch by Saunders & Sheppard Limited of Birmingham -1941

Here on offer is fine example of a genuine WW2 period, ‘The Royal Artillery’ sweetheart brooch that was made by Saunders & Sheppard Limited of Birmingham.

A finely detailed gilt brass and enamel regimental crest is suspended from a gilt bar brooch, with a machine turned finish.

There is excellent detail on the crest, even down to the rivets on the gun carriage.

Here on offer is a near mint example of an original WW2 period Royal Air Force black plastic economy cap badge.

The badge bears the “RAF” monogram in the centre surround by laurel leaf mounted with King George VI crown.

Here on offer is a fine and unusual example of a skilfully carved cow shinbone, made by a WW1 German prisoner of war (POW).

What in my opinion is interesting about this example is the carved raised lettering on the back, which is in German and reads as:

habe das erfunden Bajon

That translates into English as:
